That's not a valid reason for it invading Radio 4.

    Agreed.

Anybody who can get radio 4 can also get the BBC radio channels
devoted to sport, so there is no excuse for invading other channels
    with it.

I don't want to crosspost but I don't know where you originate Alison.

Your statement doesn't accord with your usual reasonable posts.

Pikey isn't Latin either - I AM a classical scholar.

Quod erat demonstrandum should be explained if you want to enlarge on your
statement but it could be argued that you misused it, it's a mathematical
concept and nothing to do with proving a literal point.

  5. For a classical scholar, your punctuation is piss-poor.

You'll need to show me the parts of the A1 or A9 where you think I
wouldn't be able to overtake you. Don't try to be clever by mentioning
road junctions or similar, stick to open roads.

You'd be shocked if you knew the number of car drivers that pull in
close to the kerb to allow bikes to overtake safely. It's a gesture
that I always acknowledge with a wave as I go past but being a trucker
you probably don't get many people show their appreciation when it
    comes to your driving.

People still do it more in France, mind.

And I really appreciate the French habit of warning you if there's a
    speed trap ahead.

Just keep off the DIY stuff that turns Earth into a "glowing ball of
    cinders", and we're sorted.

I'd be riding a motorbike. A rather fast one.

There aren't any stretches of open road on the A1 or A9 where I
couldn't overtake any HGV with ease. We both know that a bike can
overtake easily and apart from obvious fuckwit suggestions like mid
corner or in clear view of a speed camera it's game over.

And truckers aren't immune to that.

I recently (ish) managed to pull one past a speed camera when he was
having a little temper tantrum and I managed to dive off a side road...
managed to see the flash though.

Hope the fucker's off the road; truckers that cannot keep a lid on their
    tempers should not be driving.
