    You're the expert, apparently.

We were a little further north - Wickham area then Bishops Waltham.

There is a ride planned in the area you mention on September 24th - you should
    come along.
One was held last year too:
    http://freespace.virgin.net/jpb.design/smallwheels2005.html

In my *very* early years I lived on a strawberry farm along Brownwich Lane, and
was regularly taken on the cross bar of my Dad's bike down to Hill Head to throw
    pebbles in the sea.

I agree, it's *just about any* because the examiner will go to some lengths
to ensure you have a chance to sahow you aren't scared of speed where
appropriate. There are very few tests wher 40 is the fastest you could
reasonably go, so doing 40 in just about any test *will* be marked down as
    'not making reasonable progress'.

Ah, you can't tell the difference between a caravan and a car? Figures.

Talking about yourself's not such a good idea, you know?
Tsk, tsk. Still telling porkies, eh? I expect that half a boiled
    egg has overheated your brains.

The fact that you think an arbitrary limit is "reasonable" means
that you're an unthinking twat. But then, we knew that.

It's rarely the towcar that is causing it to be slow. It's the drivers
    mental processes.

Brimstone knows about as much about motoring as I do about ... well, I
can't think of anything I know less than nothing about, so I leave
the depth of his ignorance as an exercise for the reader.

Eh? I was talking about the mechanical fuckwitedness of the caravanners,
not the state of the caravans.

People unable to change batteries, wheels and incomprehensive of the
likely problems caused by driving on a flat tyre or a leaking cooling
    system.

Now, time's moved on and vehicles are caravans have come on in leaps and
bounds. Fine. What's this got to do with your assertion (which I
challenged) that caravanners would keep their vehicles in tip-top
condition? (OK, I paraphrased but it was the gist)

    Thanks for updating again.
In fact, you were not, but you may be now you have been corrected on your
    caravan technical knowledge.[/QUOTE]

If you hadn't snipped the context you'd see my original post in this
    sub-thread said:

"Further, the amount of mechanical incompetence left me utterly shocked
at the age of 14; there were people incapable of changing batteries,
driving cars with flat tyres (cars dragging caravans) and driving cars
low on coolant (and being surprised when the car siezed). I don't think
that everyone who tows a caravan is in a position to 'satisfy' themself
    that their outfit is safe."

Regarding being 'corrected on my caravan technical knowledge' all you've
said is that "In those 20 years (never mind 30) caravans have come on
    leaps and bounds." Hardly 'corrected'.

However, it's clear that you've little interest in a discussion so I'll
    bow out at this point.

Good for you! What ticks me off is the way the WC suddently becomes the
major news story - as if any of it actually *matters* in the long run!
Whether England win or not (and they wont!) matters no more than whether I
win a game of Monopoly with my grandson. It's just a game for goodness
sake - and a lot more boring than Monopoly!!!

On what? Genuinely curious because it's certainly not in any of the
    topics covered in this thread?

I wouldn't mind so much if it was just 2 hour slots - but the stupid game is
rammed down our throats 24/7 for as long as the competition lasts. It's the
major news item of the day on the TV news! Other regular programmes are
suspended to make way for the ball chasers. Bearing in mind that there are
now dedicated sports channels on TV - why can't they leave the regular
    channels and programming alone?

    It's obvious the bloke's a **** but to make it worse he's driving a
caravan that's possibly over the permissible weight for his car. I
asked him to enlighten us as to the facts after Steve had a go at him
but he's not replied so I'll just assume he believes that he's beyond
the law. That's cool because I am too when it comes to speeding.
