Seems to me that a scheme that's been around for 30 years or so isn't a
    "trend" anymore.

    Unlike, say, all yellow.

  4. Whenever I see a Kawasaki that green, I'm reminded of a line by Clint
Eastwood in The Recruit. Something like "It's criminal, painting a car
that good, a colour like that."

It doesn't looks so bad on a black bike, that green as a highlight.
But as a base colour, blech.

I'd go the full Fuchs race-rep kit. (But I'd only do it to a Vulcan or
    Drifter!)

    Ahh the "Green Meanies".

Back in the old days the Jap Factories did have their colour schemes (like
    the European countries did.)
Yamaha always used yellow with black ladder-stripes and Suzuki used white
with blue stripes but sponsorship killed all that in the mid 70s.
It's a pity now and if you look back at say Biaggi's pics you're flat out
picking when he switched from Honda to Yamaha. (Or the Telephonica
    Suzuki -> Honda switch).

"full WSB sticker kits" are strictly for full wankers (or sponsored
    riders :) )
Sounds like a plan. The proper colour is still Grey Primer.

You could get the kawasaki logos cut out of aluminium from a laser
cutter, polish them up, and stick them to a matt black fairing. Then
get your wheels polished to match.

The carbon look stuff looks cheap IMHO

    ....snip
C'mon IK you're not old enough to remember the 70s. While only a rug rat at the
time, I can certainly recall Lime Green being a popular shade, also that
peculiar shade of Orange you so aptly described as "HSV mid life crisis orange"
which is also making a comeback. In fact I think you'll find half the HSV colour
palette at the moment has strong ties to what was popular in in '75* - noticed
that lime green being rather popular on the Monaro ?

    JL
    * Which coincidentally enough would have been around about when said mid life
    crisis sufferees** were about 16-18...
** Yes I just made that word up, fugoff smee

Laverda had a pretty aggressive orange which started
as an endurance racing thing but ended up on street bikes too.

.... and of course Spagthorpe did wonders for Lilac.

Bright headlight from the front... black tyre and red tail light from the
back. Does the colour of the sides make a difference at night?

I suspect that, in a aesthetically kinder era, it would have had.
    Well, exactly. And orange.
