just phoned CC in Letchworth to find whether the parts I'd paid for
earlier in the week had arrived from Kawasaki and they said that they
    were closing the branch today.

    Adie wibbled:
    I just hope that part wasn't expensive . . . . . . .

Having said that - did you pay by credit card? If so you may get lucky.

they refunded over the phone and I got the transaction and
    authorisation numbers.

They also offered that I could go in and pick the receipt up.

Not too bad in Letchworth, the others were a nightmare. Dave at Lloyd C
    respected their mechanics.

The Letchworth blokes were pretty good IME, helpful types. Hope they
    find work elsewhere soon.

No, all part of the same group. However, the Watford branch had a bad name.

I was happy with the service they gave me regarding my Kawasaki but
the way the 'management' behave leaves something to be desired.
