I remember lots of Shobba cartoons. How about "Heroic Failures: The Triumph
Trodent" with a big radial engine? And I'm still waiting for the book to
    come out.

True. But then I was very lucky that I'd spent the previous nine years
working with the best stunt riders in the world so I kinda knew what I
was aiming for before I started

It wasn't until I started spending time watching Paul teach that I
discovered some very, very important techniques that stopped me from
being an accident waiting to happen, though

Oh, and I've only ever binned it twice stunting - the first one was
caused by over-confidence and not wearing leather jeans (too high, too
jerky, no arse-grip, slid off the back) and the second was caused by an
electrical fault - the crash fuckin' hurt
That, however, is most definitely true

    Cheeky bugger!
Stunting's just like racing, it takes a lot of practise, a lot of
dedication (if you want to be any good) and you have to accept that if
you push yourself and your bike then occasionally it'll go wrong

Normally you just walk away, sometimes you'll lie there hoping the pain
will stop and your arm/leg isn't really pointing in the wrong direction
    after all

But going to someone like Paul Gower decreases the chances of something
going wrong while teaching you how to be in complete control of your
bike that's in a reasonably extreme situation. Quite a few people go to
Paul because their Gixer 1000/R1 etc. has lifted the front at high
speeds/under heavy acceleration causing the rider to shit himself and he
wants to know how to control the situation so that it's no longer a
    problem

The same's true for stoppies - when you can launch the rear controllably
it makes things like emergency stops a lot less terrifying because
having the rear wheel lifting isn't scary anymore so isn't an
unnecessary distraction at a time when you really want to be
    concentrating

The key thing is that he knows what he's doing *now*, and he knows
some of the best stunt riders in the world, and he's a great bloke to
spend time with, and he'll make you famous.

Explains why my only wheely [1] ended in loss of sight of the road [2]
and the blue screen of pain.

    [1] It was accidental [3]
    [2] It's *behind* you
    [3] Oh yes it was

    Pantomime lives on.
Every time I put my waterproofs on it's a bloody pantomime.

You do pick sooo many things up in a short space of time, while just hanging
around with much better riders. I remember when I was out with your crowd a
while ago, pathetically trying to wheelie my CB500. All it took was one of
the guys there to say 'no you need the revs down there' (points to speedo
about 3000rpm lower than I'd been revving it), and on my next attempt, up
came the front by a foot or two with virtually no effort.
    Blimey - I'm surprised. I guess when you're stunting, you're prepared for
something to happen, whereas it's doing the same thing you've done a
thousand times before that leads to your concentration dropping off, and
    hence accidents.
Hey, all it took was for you to point a camera at me and say 'try going
round the other way', and I was lying in a heap.

Umm... only if somebody's come up with a decent fix for Outpuke's Standard
Sig Buggering Routine. It's dash-dash-space when I see it on my screen.
