Well I figure it this way...my winter break ends Sunday so there just
aren't going to be many idyllic riding days between now and then...
    So I just went anyway.
This time I wore my waders, sidi onroads with gators and a rubberized
foul weather jacket over my riding jacket. With two REI underwears and
two layers of fleece on top of that, I was dry and warm.
So I did the coast road, on the RS, with the wind howling through the
cypress trees, the rain slanted sideways across the road, sort of a
    weird spraying thing.
Not bad really, I had my little radio going, listening to NPR through
the ear phones and I just took it relaxed and easy, letting the front
    brake have a day off.
I rode around Bolinas Lagoon, even through the two lakes that had formed
near Bolinas Ridge Road...and so what the hell, I turned up the hill and
rode all the way up the Ridge Road to the Pan Toll, then all the way to
    the summit....
where it was really raining hard. Not a bike in sight.

The way back was complicated by the flood near the Mill Valley entrance
to 101 south....I had to double back over the road to the next northern
    exit.
All the stupids were on the freeway, but smoky was out in force, picking
them off at Sausalito. Something about this time of year, they are
always working that stretch of highway, so I was observing the limit,
    like always..:)
All together it was only about 90 miles, but it sure made the crackling
fireplace a welcome sight when I got home.
Ok, I may just do it again tomorrow.
