With clutch cables, is it a case of one size fits all or are they specific
to make and model? I snapped the cable to my kawakka zzr250's clutch the
other day and am trying to source a replacement online.

    Ta for any helpful comments.

Good question. I don't know the answer to it.. however I do know that
Kawasaki have a habit of increasing the price of spare parts
proportional to the time that they are on the shelf, so the price of a
    1991 ZZR250 clutch cable might be more expensive than a 2005 ZZR250
clutch cable even though they are identical items but have different
    part numbers.

had the same problem with my zr250 (Balius) on teusday evening. No,
clutch cables aren't interchangeable as a rule, but sometimes you can
get one from a similar make/model that fits. Since just about no one
wrecks zr250s and it would have taken days (if not weeks) to get a
kawasaki part (I'm a courier, so being off the road for days/weeks
would have been really dire, which is why I should have ordered one
_before_ the darn thing broke, specially as it's happened to me
    before).

Turns out the zr750 zephyr clutch cable fits my bike, so I has up and
running pretty quick, but there's no guarantee that the zzr250 will be
    the same.

Anyhoo, check out Sydney Motorcycle wreckers, they were really helpful
for me. Maybe they can make a suggestion.

  5. One from any ZZR-250 will fit, and I'm pretty sure one from a GPX-250
will fit too (same engine, similar size, but I'm only guessing there).

The cable will be the same as about 20 other Kawasaki's as well, but I'd
only be guessing at specific models.

I checked and could not find a Kawasaki dealer loitering near my phone.

  7. I had a quick look down the paddock for a cow selling grog and couldn't find
    any either.
