Clunking when clutch is engaging

  1. Hey again, 1984 Kawi KZ700. This just started (I swear, fix one thing,
the next breaks) When pulling away from a stop, just as the clutch seems
to finish engaging, there's a "clunk" noise. its not just a noise,
either, I can feel it happening. Power delivery seems ok, but it isn't
    as smooth as usual.

    Still haven't checked the valves.
    New clutch cable.
Checked oil level, was a little low, now OK, still making the noise.

Any ideas? Does this mean my clutch or some part of it is failing?

    Thanks all!

My guess would be that the sound is coming from the
chain drive or rear wheel rather than from the clutch.
