Climbing anyone?

Seeing as Hulland ward is on the edge of the
Peak district, I was semi sort of musing as
to wether to throw my climbing gear in the back
of the car and head on up earlyish on Saturday
(or maybe even the Sunday) to one or other of
the excellent gritstone edges in the area.
Anyone else fancy it? Weather permitting, of
    course.

Well ... I did say I wasn't going to and the weather forecast isn't good and
I haven't climbed for ages and I don't think I can get away early on the
Saturday and I'm not sure what time I'll have to set off on the Sunday and
    .... and ...

Black rocks is just around the corner though.

I was at Black Rocks two weeks ago, the grit was spot on and now is
probably the best time of year as seepage is at a minimum, however the
landings are becoming more erroded, and hoards of wannabes were doing tea
bag impressions on Demon Rib. Despite the inevitable damage it will
always be a nice 5C tick.

I've only done one morning at Black Rocks, but it seemed nice.

Railway slab looks interesting and has the benefit of requiring me to take a
minimum amount of gear (boots and chalkbag) down on the bike.

Well, I'll bung my gear in and just see what the day brings.

Mostly attainable in wellies, up the middle needs some thought as it feels
way exposed near the top (take a friend to fall on) and there is a
desperate 6C/7A thingy on it from memory. Railway boulder is good fun and
a tad harder in an easy sort of way.

Elly and I mused that we might have a go on some rocks, but I really
CBA packing all the climbing gear. I think i'll bring a harness and
boots just in case as these are light enough to pack.

    Cheers,

    Paul.

Nothing you do would surprise me, dear :)

It really was nice to see you and Owen again, BTW.
Nah, Alex had a bit of a poorly head or something.

Gotcha on that one didn't I? Your face was a picture when I said "I
climbed Black Rocks today". Shame I added "Scrambled up the back way"
    really. Anyway, did you go?

I think it's worth point out that Alex stuffed his fat face with about 90%
of the desserts. So next season when you're investigating fuel-routing
problems or suspension issues and shredded tyres, etc, check to make sure
    he's not wearing a girdle.
