What the ****? How can a car like this be so soft, sloppy & generally French
be so harsh over even so much as a blade of grass?

The seats are horrific, with arse ache after 5 minutes & no back support.

The build quality is fucking dire & it's just shit in every possible way?

How can a reasonable modren car be so bad? I mean, it looks reasonable from
the rear, but, there is nothing else.

You're not sticking it in full-high, are you? If so, then you've got
2000psi of hydraulic pressure holding the suspension arms against the
    bumpstops...

Other than that... Well, it's a C5. Not one of Citroen's high points.

The only way it could get worse is if it's got either the 2.2HDi diesel
or 2.0HPI petrol lump. It hasn't, has it? Even by C5 standards, they're
    dogs.

I'm assuming this is the old shape C5, or it's a new shape in rep-spec
    without the hydraulic suspension.

The new shape on proper suspension is meant to be very good.

    That's the 'new' shape, then.

Rep-spec cars have springs, better spec cars have hydro.

You must have the rep-spec if it's shit.

Steel suspension, then. Just a 407 with different panels.

  15. Be her knight in shining armour.
If it's the "everything is automatic" on the electrical side gone wrong.
Just disconnect the battery for a few minutes reconnect and all the
computers reset. 99% of the problems are solved that way.

  16. It sounds like the "Made it as cheap as we can" version.
The better spec versions with the hydro is a dream to drive with a
programmable option on the suspension to make it more sporty (in a
    relative sort of way).

  17. Different versions give different HP up to 176 and are very responsive
to re-mapping. Very good MPG at the same time.
    OK have to agree there.

  18. No, not with this oe. There's a reset procedure which sorts out all the
randomly flashing warning lights for maybe 50 mies, and they plan to do
that before trading it in :-/
