Who had the bright idea to come up with alloy allen bolts with a 3mm
socket eh? Bloody stupid fitting on the underside of an MTB downtube,
where once they've settled in are only removable by sawing a flat
screw slot into them, apparently.. Oh well off to the cycle shop
tomorrow for couple of replacemrnts so I can actually fit a mudguard.

Anyway, thinking slightly longer term I seem to recall there was a
place that knocked out mixed buckets of bolts, but can't seem to find
anything that's a mix of M4 M5 and M6 with multiple lengths.. Any
    ideas folks?

  5. The mania for weight-saving knows no bounds. I knew a bloke who cut off
the extraneous bits of maps before he went on a hike. Not much good if
    he got lost, of course.

Agreed. These were original fasteners had been in there from the day
I got the bike and had never been un-done. I think I'm going to try
and get 6 stainless m5 bolts and replace the water bottle holder ones
at the same tine, they're all made of cheese.

Anyway, this may be irelevant as tomorrow I'm going to try riding with
SPD's for the first time ever, so may be dead before I even get to the
    bike shop.

They're about 500 yds away from me and are very good.

Screwfix do packs of 50 (or maybe 100) in stainless for
a couple of quid, which if you have one near you is much
cheaper for a selection than mail order.
