I'd accuse you of being weird, but there'd be zero revealed wisdom in that statement
Looking on the bright side it probably reduces Andy's string budget.
I had some rather tasty 'baby' spring cabbage last night. Cut fairly finely then stir fried. A splash of wine vinegar and a smidgen of honey for the last few seconds. Well I liked it. The parsnip chips in extra virgin olive oil with garlic, thyme, sea salt and freshly ground black pepper were also delicious, as was the pan fried venison. The 1995 Zenato Amarone classico took some time to wake up. Good job I opened it well in advance. Not as complex I was hoping for and SWMBO preferred the 2004 Artaldica Barbaresco , both very different to our usual French plonk supping. -- +-------------------------------------------------------------+ | Pete Fisher at Home: | | Voxan Roadster Gilera Nordwest Yamaha WR250Z | | Gilera GFR * 2 Moto Morini 2C/375 | +-------------------------------------------------------------+
Looking on the bright side it probably reduces Andy's string budget.
Andy's budget has just been battered booking our xmas holiday. Actually that's not true because most of the money was already sitting in the bank and with only airport parking to book we're £26 over budget. I'd call that a bit of a result. I'll be posting seeking advise regarding our destinations in yet another off topic thread.
I've seen her devour more sprouts in a single sessions than I'd be prepared to eat in a year. "Quite odd" doesn't even begin to come close to scratching the surface of the weirdness Adies's eating habits. -- _______ ..'_/_|_\_'. Try them the Nigel Slater way; even people who *don't* like sprouts like em. Chop a few rashers of streaky bacon up into lardons and crisp them up in a frying pan over a medium heat. Shred some sprouts finely, then once the bacon is crispy, turn up the heat and stir fry the sprouts in the hot bacon fat for only 2 minutes.
Sounds nice. I sometimes do them hot-fried in butter with a few whole whole chestnuts, just till they get a few brown buts, then just left in the warm with a top on to steam for a few minutes. I think I might try this with a few lardons to start them off now you've got the idea of those flavours in my mind. -- _______ ..'_/_|_\_'. Elefantentreffen. You know it makes no sense at all but everyone likes a trier and I'll keep pestering you until you cave in.

If I freeze to death then Adie will dispose of all my bikes however she sees fit. You're probably more suited to the pushbike than any of the motorised ones.

Bear says... No sorry, I meant that was the only better reason, not that Slater's Sprouts would make you more appealing to women.
Well, as if anything could. And, in return, I'm going to chuck some chestnuts in with mine
Let me know what you think - it's one of the few ways of cokking them that makes them actually appealing to me - other than that I can usually only manage to eat four or five with the xmas dinner. -- _______ ..'_/_|_\_'. Well if you fancy popping over to Flaine, I'll be there for 3 weeks from next weekend. Our Jan trip still looks OK, but we could do with a couple more people to share a guide with[1]. Then again, we can always just go with a group from the BdG if there's just the three of us and we don't fancy paying the full whack between us. We were skiing powder yesterday and today (although the vis was attrocious this afternoon) - **** me, but we've chosen a great place to have a ski pad )) [1] Anyone been in contact with Christofire recently, as he said he'd be up for it but I can't contact him? -- _______ ..'_/_|_\_'. I utterly adore chestnuts, and need little encouragement to introduce them into anything. Do you use tinned, peeled ones, of roasted ones, or boiled, or what?
Fresh ones from the garden (they keep well for months), boiled for about 5 minutes then skinned. Or tinned ones. Or vacuum packed. The frogs are quite keen on 'em, so plenty of choice over here. -- _______ ..'_/_|_\_'.
