Cool. We didn't get that kind of training when I drove one of those.

  3. The CHP have all the fun??? I mean they can do that out on the highways
if they wish... they are trained...

I think getting the feel for high speed drifts and learning how to
correct should be mandatory for all of us...

Wow! That looks fun. The CHP ought to use this as a recruiting video.

    recruiting video.

Ive been stopped twice by the CHP for hauling ass on the
freeway and both times they thanked me for stopping and one
said a lot of sport bikes out run them.

No way can thier cruizers do 180...or cut off the road and go
between trees. the chp cars siren or not cant do much if the
traffic is jammed up... the best they can do is open up with
thier shot gun, pistol or automatic weapons, and all that
does is mow down the tax payers in mini vans...that practice
    is fading.

I am gonna agree with Phil on this one.

If you know the area, if you know the garages, if you KNOW what you are
doing, and you are willing to risk it, you CAN outrun Motorola.

True, you will be VERY VERY hot on the IR scans from helicopter, but you
can still parking at shopping center with many other hot vehicles, and
getting the heck away, from your bike, fast.

I knew a guy in Texas who ran like hades, dropped the bike in an
underground garage, popped a heat resist weather cover (like at cycle
gear) over it, locked it, stropped his aerostich, walked to the shopping
mall, had lunch, came out 30 minutes later, and rode home.

All I saw was a video of a bunch of guys on a controlled course. They
SAID 100 mph, but heck, they thought the guy in the Midwest was goin
    205.

If you want to run, it is possible. Stupid, but possible.

  8. Back in those days, it was more along the lines of "Here are the keys,
try to bring it back without too much damage," wasn't it? <g>

My sergeant rolled one of our cars responding to an accident. He was
code 3 and crested a rise in the road and saw two cars and a flock of
people in the middle of the road. There was no room to stop so he headed
out to the tall and uncut. As it turned out, it was an 11-82. I'm glad
    it wasn't me.
