What the hell is going on here lately?
Doodle doodles around on a GS, JustAl and Marty are posting pro-chook,
Jules on a Peg, Al announcing a TDM....
Even Nev decking a GS12 rather than a budgie.
And that's aside from the "oldtime" XLV and Peg-punters..
C'mon, what the hell's wrong with the yoghurt-tubs??
Certainly looks like a trend, doesn't it?

Is the Euro-trend (where nearly every 2. bike sold is a chookie of some
sort) finally encroaching and "taking over"?
Is Zeebee gonna get onto a Quota next (gotta stick to the Guzzi's , eh?)
    PaulH on what??
Conehead on a 3-wheeler with long suspension and spoked19" front wheel
    after he's outta the "hotel"?

    Buncha old farts you are!!
    :)
    cheers

So perhaps I should hold onto the Peg for another 20,000km knowing it
    will appreciate!

    Hehe...
About 2-3 years back, waiting to board the ferry at Devonport, saw a guy
    with a Quota.
Great looking bike but they shoulda delivered a crane from Guzzi Heavy
    Industries with it...
guy who rode was pretty short and what was missing there was more than made
    up for in width.
The resulting antics when the queue moved forward were hilarious.

    cheers

    You wanna flog it?
After only one lousy highway run to Adelaide?
Just take her into the hills, maboy :) and watch her GO.
Best with a group of others so you've got a gauge...
Yep, looks like Pegs are doing pretty well on the 2.hand markets nowadays.
    cheers

^^^^^^^ Hit the nail on the head there Pete!
Actually; I'm a fraud and my emu-chaser is very unlikely to ever stray
    off-road.
I actually wanted an RS or an S but the GS was the proverbial "right
    price".

We dragged him up to Tarago at Easter, via Kahncoban, Jindabyne, Charlottes
    Pass etc. http://evilurl.com/fecesBOOBJOB
He did a pretty good job of keeping up with a girl on an F650CS :p

  9. Dunno about the others, but in my past I've had an R100GS, TDM850, R1100GS
and a Paul Rooney modified R80G/S(This one I wish was still with me), so
it's nothing new really. And then more dedicated dirt bikes TC185, XT550,
    CR250M, DR500S, PE175

    You wanna flog it?
Heh it's funny you should say that. I wound up in the Dandenongs
recently and actually found the ride home (cutting through shitty
traffic) more fun than the actual twisty bits.

Not sure if I've got to do some work on the setup or what, but the Peg
seems to be more fun pulling silly stunts between cars.

Still, I can't think of any other bike I'd rather be riding right now.
Was just awfully tempted by a cage when I got back from Europe on the
coldest something day in yada yada

  12. I was after an RS too, but the RT was the right price at the right time.

I was reminiscing about this today....
I was at Sundale on the Gold Coast looking at a 1000cc bored-out CB750
which was on display as Honda's answer to the yet-to-be-seen Z1 (but was
actually a bullshit home-made) when the kid I was near said "There's a bike
in Germany that's 1200cc and it's called The Munk Mammoth"....
    1200cc?!!? Twelve-frikkin-hundred-cee-frikkin-cee?!!?
I could not imagine a bike that big.

    Now they make 1200cc trial-bikes............

Just surprising what a good road-bike a chookie can make, eh?

It's a beaut to ride through twisties etc but I'm actually having a bit of
a problem with my back and the upright seating position.
I'll see if I can get some lower, more forward bars before I'm totally
    crippled......
(and maybe rearset the footpegs a bit)

  18. Upper back? I rolled the bars back on mine(allowed my arms to sit lower
where they wanted to be) and sorted out the upper back pain, never did get
over the sore arse, that's why my GS was a 6 month bike. VTR was much more
    comfortable.

    Naah; lower-back with me.
I was just gonna kick the bars forward but then they angle up
    strangely.......
(And the seat is a friggin' ROCK)
