Trev was seen penning the following ode to ... whatever:
Bwwahahahahaha. That'll go bang before the end of the auction, that
    will...
500 quid probably isn't bad but it's by no means a bike you would want
to use on a daily commute.
The plastic maggots probably are a step in the right
direction. Possibly other smaller Hondas as well.

  4. turbo? Nearly bought one once, but it was smoky, and I thought thoughts of
how much a turbo would cost for it...
now there's a bike I always had in mind to acquire but never did. A mate
had one, nice solid bike, and looked better made than the divvy. The rear
alloy grab handle bit always seems to look crap though.

XJ900 was another that I fancied.

Heh. Yeah - that's one I'd like, too. In fact, if I had the money, I
think I'd buy one of each of the factory Turbots.
Yeah, I wish I'd have bought one instead of my first Divvy 600 now.
Still quite a few around - but my next purchase needs to be a bike I can
sling down a track - don't think an XJ6 quite fits that criteria.

Maybe an FZ600 would do the job though - I still kick myself for buying
a Z400J instead of spending a couple of hundred more on an FZ600.
Aye. Not much to beat them as a shite old shaftie even now.

especially the non factory approved one that Kawasaki USA
produced to get rid of their stock of Z1-R's, I seem to recall a
road test saying it was the type of bike best chained up and fed
small lumps of meat ... such as small children ;o)

    http://www.japsirauta.fi/Z1R-Turbo.jpg

as an ex Z1R owner that is one bike I'd love to get my paws on
   )

  7. This one, if it's good
This one, for definite, but it'll sell for a damn sight more than that
    if it's so good.

  8. Actually, the TZR250 is a tough engine. Tougher than the RD350.

    Heh.

Is that 'tougher' in the same way that Fiat are more reliable than Alfa?

Steve, the CX650 and the CX500 Eurosport shared exactly the same
'Eurosport' styling. Please engage brain before hitting 'send'.

    Maggot.

No choice to make do you want something that looks like dogs dinner (All
CX's) or do you want to look cooler than a cool thing? (TZR) I suggest
looking cool is the way to go. <BG>
As for reliabilty TZR's are OK if you don't totally abuse em.....and very
    cheap/easy to fix.
Also no 4 stroke will warm up in 8 miles....think of all the oil changes.
Yep decision nade you NEED a TZR

  16. does look tidy, though, and all the panels seem to be there.
very silly seat. Looks like it came of a virago or something. Nice enough
things, ISTR, but usual 2-stroke aspects apply. Fast, mind, and never
really seemed as popular as the H1.

  18. I've had a couple of them. Love 'em to bits.
    Really good under-rated bike.

Easily the best of the old early V4s.
Friggin uncomfortable, though... First bike I ever saw over 150mph on.

The Older Gentleman fascinated us all by saying...
I owned one in 1979 and owned a further 28, plus christ knows how many
other RDs, until flogging all my RD shite in 2002, and I'm buggered if
I'll ever have another one again. Fucking 2-stroke crap.
