err, yes. I've got well over a grand of "stuff around the house that I
don't use any more" picked out for eBaying.

In fact, the 210 (est.) of stuff I've sold so far has gone for 240, so
    it's all good.

I'm sure Burnt will give you some pointers

    Unfortuantely, he's in Seattle atm.

Yeah the back was on the way out, as I warned you. I'm surprised you
still have the chain on though.
    Be rude not to.
Ah, that sounds more like it. Have you got new pads on? That will
probably make a big difference. Other than that I dunno, if you've
had all the seals etc done. Speak to Champ, he has a lot of
experience setting up those 6-pot Tokicos.

Not a lot now. I've just sorted the cash and I'm going to look at an
02 plate K2[1] with 3k miles on it at the weekend. It's up for 6.5k
which is ok but I'm going to try for 6-6.2k.

[1] In black and red like my old 750 :)

Well I think he disliked the slight uncertainty of employment in that
industry. It got better though (for him).

I'm liking the black/red and not so many around. Goodrigde brake lines up
front, some decent pads, set of Heli bars and some rearset plates - job's a
good'un. The standard headlight is pretty shite though BTW.

There is a *load* of K1's on the market ATM, it's a bad time of year for
dealers, so buck for some deep discounting and offer £6k tops. He's likely
to be looking at it for a few months otherwise after all.

Brakes are good enough for me if they're better than the ones that
were on the 750. Sod the heli-bars etc, the riding position is
perfect for me. Headlights are ok, will be putting some of those
whitelight bulbs in. They made a nice difference to the 750.
This is a K2. I've found two to look at now.

    1) 02 K2, 3800 miles, £6500, fsh
    2) 02 K2, 5800 miles, £5995, fsh

Assuming both are in the same condition, which is the better buy? I'm
inclined towards offering 6200 for (1).

nah, offer 5800 for (2) - think about it. (1) will need a service
(say, 250 quid) in 200 miles time...

I've since noticed (1) has an alarm. Now I'm not to fussed about an
alarm as it only makes 80 quid difference to the insurance, and at the
amount the insurance will cost, that's **** all.

But yeah, you're right about the service. Going to see (2) in an
    hour.

I like the colourscheme that Daz has on his K2.

That'd be my second choice but I really prefer the black/red.

I'd happily pay 80 quid not to have an alarm on my 'blade - it's a
    pain in the ****.
5800 miles is just nicely run in, especially if you're only using it
    as a toy.

Well, do report back on life without juice bars, Italian deli's,
pretentious win bars, dodgy pubs with lunchtime strippers, etc.

You need an alarm that doesn't auto alarm to cure that

  19. No idea. Like you, I've hardly seen any on the road, and London and the
SE is a really good seat-of-the-pants place for assessing bike sales.

I saw a Z750 in the dealer earlier. Nice enough but nothing really
    stunning.
