It's just like it used to be back in 'old days when I were into
racing. Having not been to a bike meet since, ooh, 1980 or so, nothing
much seemed to have changed at all. Which was nice.
    *waves*

But yes, I'd heartily second the recommendation, even though I had to
leave on Sunday morning. Great weekend, which for Champ, Mike and me
just capped off a great week.

Not by any definition of "fortune" that I recognise.

It probably costs a fair amount to get to Cairo, but that doesn't mean
    the pyramids aren't worth seeing.

  4. have the Isle Of Man Steam Racket Company no longer got a monopoly on the
    shipping then?

No. They're still the only company. The route has nowhere near
enough traffic to support two ferry companies.

It costs about 150 quid to take a bike over. How is that a fortune?

I'm sure that looked a lot more dangerous to you than it did to me.

At worst, there was a good metre of pavement I could have taken to...

you have me mixed up with some other monotreme-detractor. If I was
"going on" about anything, it would have been how fucking old you're
    looking these days.

    good point.

I really regret having gone to get a beer and missing his upside-down
    antics, mind.

As I said, usually *I'm* the guy re-tying his shoelaces when something
like that happens, so I'm quite amazed that I got the whole thing from
    start to finish.

    Good it was.

  14. Sounds similar to Mallory Park on Boxing day. If you can get near the
    bus-stop, it's worth the effort.

It was the maneouvre that prompted the lefthand indicator marathon.

It did: you pulled alongside the tipper-trailer artic, and then it
moved out past a parked car, and you *vanished*. From behind, I was
expecting to be showered with lumps of darsy/Honda melange at any
    moment.
    Oh, piece of cake then.
