Riding, I expect. Why do you ask?

I reckon I've just figured it out. I could slip a couple of bottles
into the tailpack I guess, but I was thinking of taking the XL500 so
not much scope for any more than that.

I went to Fairford last year and a couple of years previously. Nobody
seems quite as good as the Red Arrows. The US team seemed very good at
formation flying but were quite dull otherwise.

OK, no worries. I'm still trying to find an excuse to take the car on a
cross-channel raid at some point so I'll keep that plan ticking over.

Btw, I must owe you some money for it (excluding storage). What's the
bill? I can slip some funny-money to someone doing Chimay.

It was the bombastic commentary that did me.

Rousing music, every single fly-past dedicated to "our troops in
eyerack" and so on. Compare and contrast with the Arrows and the laconic
commentaray you get from the man on the ground. Says it all really.

    [Red Arrows vs US]
When HD first started transmitting, the BBC HD channel showed a
documentary fairly regularly following the selection of new Red Arrows
personnel, and culminating in a display at a how in Canada (IIRC) with
two US display teams and one Canadian team.

Whilst not a competition, there was obviously rivalry and once the RA
had done their display, all of the other teams came up to them to
congratulate them on being the best.

It fair brought a tear to the eye...

I'd rather smell of wee than break my leg slipping on the stuff.

It was. I am mostly a TC. However I've been watching the Vulcan flying
around this afternoon so I don't care.

Well, there are only 4 bottles missing from 'your' crate :)

Though I think they're still in the fridge, shall I put them back?
TBH, I don't even remember what they cost.

I might see if I can set up an expedition this week to pick up some 8,
    as it's currently available.

Nah, feel free to have them as some kind of commission.
    According to the website,

Trappist Westvleteren Blond (5,8 vol.% ABV) 28,00 euros
    Trappist Westvleteren 8 (dark) (8 vol.% ABV) 32,00 euros
    Trappist Westvleteren 12 (dark) (10,2 vol.% ABV) 38,00 euros

Plus 12 euros for the crate.

    Bagsy!

I just noticed that the best before date is 31/03/2010.

I don't think I can take the risk of passing them on.

OTOH, I might go test a couple.
