    who's going this year then?

I suspect its a small crew as I only know of me, himself, Burnt and
    Pip.

<small voice>I'm also going in the car as I CBA to strap all that junk
on the bike for a dull journey.

We'll be aiming to camp in the same area as previous years so you'll
know where to look for us.

ITYF Platy will be turning up too, also in the car, which'll be full of
    junk and party people.

And smack, don't forget the smack. I'm dreading scraping the arse of
the Alfa through that track up to the field, though.

Get the arses out of the car first and make them walk.

Bee was thinking of going, not sure she has an operational mount as yet
    though.

Unlikely. I owe V a trip to Fairford.

Having seen the Vulcan at Goodwood yesterday, I'm quite looking forward
to it. Just hope the weather sorts itself out in time.

For some reason I was certain Fairford was last weekend - I'm sure the
local radio station was warning about the traffic last week. Thought it
    was a bit quiet.

I'll almost certainly be doing Farnborough instead, as I can't do that
weekend. Which is a shame, as I have a good mate who works at
Fairford, and he might have been able to pull a few strings...

Nice day out, if you like planes that can't carry bombs.

Last time there, amongst other stuff, I saw the Vulcan, Typhoon, F-16,
several WWII-era planes, some helicopters and even seeing an A380 being
chucked around was impressive. Plus there's the Red Arrows, of course.

I'm an equal-opportunities aircraft nerd, me!

These things can get a bit samey, but some things always impress. I saw
the USAF Thunderbirds get their arses handed to them on a plate by the
Red Arrows. The B1 Lancer and B52 are always quite impressive just due
to their size. The Mig 29 with thrust vectoring a couple of years back
was mind-boggling, the way it could just hang in the sky. And the F117A
Nighthawk - usually if you're in a position to see one of those in the
    air, you're about to die.

Civil aviation? Might as well go bus-spotting.
