    In the camping field? No!

    In the pits, yes.

There's been a couple of blue plastic Turdis things in the field most years.
And showers. The shitter stockade was something else, last year.

As platy's already said, there are usually a few portaloos in the
camping field, then a main block of portaloos near the paddock on the
other side of the start/finish straight to the camping field.

Occasionally, they also have the permanent toilet and shower facilities
open in the main control building, but I haven't seen them open this for
    a few years.

Last year was a special case, as it was the something-th anniversary:
four days of racing rather than three, lots more people than usual.
There weren't any portaloos in the camping field, but the toilet and
shower facilities on the other side were greatly extended.

I don;t recall them being particularly unpleasant, well anymore than
    those things always are.

I thought they were always clean (as I'd expect, given that you have to
pay to use the ones in the stockade), but it was a quite an assembly[0]
    of portaloos.

[0] What's the official collective noun for these things? A floater of
    portaloos, perhaps?

That's basically what I meant, although I phrased it poorly. Those
type of portabog are often very unpleasant, these were about as good
    as they get.

I remember being enchanted by the brand name for a French PortaKhazi at
    the Bol, way back when:

    Sanitrot.

I remember them. And the Paul Ricard ones before they made an effort and
sent round the honey wagon every few hours instead of not pumping them
out at all until the end of the race.

They were fine, you just had to steel yourself not to be put off by the
depositions of those who had gone before. Also, no place to wash your hands
that I could see - fortunately, I had my little bottle of waterless hand
    cleaner.

  20. Let's not forget the khazi in the cafe/chocolate/beer shop in town,
which has running water and loo paper and is always in decent order.
