more to the point - why would he believe that a typical UKRMer on a
relatively modern bike would be any quicker than him on a SOBB?

my arse was in tatters after doing 300 miles in a weekend on it to and
    from the BOSM.

600 miles in a weekend on it is right out.

Was that the bike, or falling into a drunken coma outside the tent of BGN?

You'd need someone slower than continental drift to stay with a LE,
it's marginally more powerful than a FS1E and about as fast.

I think everyone (1) rather hopes you don't even turn up.

    (1) Ok, maybe not everyone but me for a starter.

I've got one that was on the Enfield if you want to try to adapt it to
    fit.

I have already made the greatest contribution to the fight against climate
change that I can make: I have decided not to breed. Now quit bugging me and
go and talk to the Catholics.

  11. Thanks, but no. I've done that before and while anything can be made to
fit, you inevitably wind up with something that falls to bits and dumps
    your luggage in the road.

    Its not that bad.
Eight conservatively rated horses measured at the wheel puts it into
    holy pushrod territory.

Somewhat slower than I'd expect to be traveling - it's foreign, so
    speed limits don't count.

In the Snettetton bar last night, a friend of mine was proudly
explaining how her 'She-wee' worked, but she wouldn't demonstrate it

I can do it in 5 minutes.

I'm sure Nige can just about manage 5 seconds.

You misunderstand. I decided on what I wanted and put a deposit on a
bike a couple of months back. Then it got knocked off it's stand by a
car in France, and I'm waiting for the current owner to get it sorted.
