Looks okay. Cells mostly full - battery looks new(ish)

Is a 12V14Ah, with a battery box spacer fitted. Odd.

    Gave 11.2V on the meter.

Connections were grim. Cleaned and filed to a shiny brilliance, they
await the verdict of the Optimate.

  7. That could be the whole problem. I had that on the old (1986) VFR. It
became hard to start, and eventually had to be bumped (at work, in
underground garage - fortunately with 6 foot 6 colleague to help).
Figuring that as it was going now it would make it home if I didn't stall
I set out and it died completely about 5 miles later. On inspection the
battery connections were corroded to f**k so I cleaned them and
reconnected them, and it fired up fine on the starter. There was no
problem with the charging circuit, the crud on the battery connections did
    all the damage.

VFRs are of course well known for dodgy RRs but this wasn't the problem in
    this (particular) case.

  11. That should be big enough - not quite as big as was fitted originally
    probably - but enough.
Probably recovered a bit. If you'd put the meter on just as it conked
out, I'd not be surprised if it was 6V.
    More than likely sorted.

  12. Takes less ignition current to run at higher revs.

No, they're marked as 600SS I think ... but will check!
I know. I nearly got a matching front of ebay the other
day to go with it! I will get round to collecting it, honest.

I might be doing an evening at Brands soon, so you'll
have to come along and have a shuftie.

I'm not surprised - I was sat on the far side of the cafe, and could
practically *see* the smell every time the door opened.

Where's my "I've Been Nicked" number, then?
You need a nice Goldwing, you do.
I told you not to let on you knew you'd lost it: "It was in this pocket. I
always put it in this pocket. I can't imagine what's happened to it."
    "It's only a SOGW."

    That's not cautious, that's slow.
Really? Can't have been that fast, Zymurgy was able to get past me a couple
    of times on Saturday.

Heh. I got "snapped" by the rearfacing camera on the A26/A16 junction
    this afternoon. 150kph in a 110 limit.
    If only.

I'd have had less chance of catching you on the Fifteen than on the
    CBX, tbh.
    I forgot.
Yeah, but, there's no need to ruin it on purpose.

Not at all. Hot, thirsty, and knackered, though.

Every other place was full, we just needed somewhere to sit.

They do a very passable bottle of fizzy water, and a big portion of
    chips is nott bad, either.

    Don't have the "cheeseburger" though.

On the subject of food - I've realised that the only thing I've eaten
all day was that croissant at breakfast. How come I'm not hungry?
