My BT010s have done about 1000 miles since I got them. Trouble is, about 200
of those have been on track days, and the edges are looking somewhat the
worse for wear - very chewed-up, and with loads of chewing-gum like blobs
where the rubber's got a tad warm.

Question is, once I've put a few road miles in and smoothed the edges down a
bit, should I be worried about the state of the tyre? i.e. will the high
heat have damaged the underlying structure, leaving me with less grip and
more prone to blow-outs? I don't really want to change them, as there's
plenty of tread left, but I've got another track day at the end of the month
at Silverstone, which I'm led to believe is a pretty quick circuit.

    Cheers in advance as always.

How was your Brands evening? What did you think of the format?

Thought it was fine. Leaves you hungry for more rather than shattered. Bit
disappointed the sessions compressed due to the time taken to process the
riders in the beginning- poor organisation. And I wish that fat bloke would
keep his briefing's a bit briefer, it's not like he *really* gives a toss,
as evidenced by some of the things people were getting away with. If he kept
his bullshit to a minimum we would have had more track time.

Only other problem was the timing: Damn that sunset at Clearways- my eyes!!

'What I want to see is happy, smiley faces.... eight people have died on UK
track days in the last four years.... the grass is not as grippy as the
tarmac....the first session is starting _now_, so grab your briefing
stickers and run.' same every time. Bit more bearable on a full day.
    eyes!!

I got that on a couple of sessions as well. Fucking dangerous.

My last trackday of the year is booked for 5th October at Silverstone F1
(again with Focused). £85, so only a fiver more than an evening at Brands.

Only one of them was particularly warm - but that was an evening session, so
starting to cool off, and only about an hour on the track in total.
I was thinking more of blow-out type catastrophes, but I'm guessing it'd
need to be extremely shagged-out for that to happen.
    Groovy, ta.
