Why oh why do manufacturers insist on making exhaust manifold bolts out of Brei. Gareth's bike had a problem so I told him he could borrow the GS. Five minute later he called to tell me that it's vibrating like crazy and had no power. First thought that he revved it like crazy from cold (as he does) and bent a valve. A quick compression test with my thumb over the spark plug hole showed no compression on the LH cylinder. However, I could see the valves opening and closing quite merrily when I cranked the engine, but no sign of the piston pushing it's merry way up. So off with the rocker covers and head. This is where I find the cheese exhaust manifold bolts. So, it's either weld a bolt to the rounded bit or drill them out. Why do I get a feeling that this is not going to be a straight forward piston swap? -- Molly "Kneesliders Sponsored by Cane" "Gower School" By Appointment".
