There seemed to be something missing on the Green One, while we were on our little run to Mena, Ar. last week.. It just didn't seem to be running quite the way it normally does.. After almost ten years of good service from that little bike, I took it in to Grapevine Kawasaki .. The shop manager, Dean.. put it on the lift and him and one of his techs commenced going over that Vulcan with a fine toothed comb.. First .. they found a slight gas leak.. thought I'd been smelling gas on that trip.. The next problem was a defective switch for the stop lights.. That sucker was hanging up.. besides a couple of tail light bulbs had burned out elements.. Dean asked me how long it'd been since the valves on my motorcycle had been adjusted.. When I told him they'd never been adjusted.. he grinned.. See there, you'll think you are riding a different motorcycle when we do that.. The fuel line is a two part tubing .. one size at the fuel petcock and a smaller size at the carburetor jet.. I'm sure that I could fabricate the line, but I decided to go ahead and order the thing.. The stop light switch had to be ordered also.. Those dealers don't have any kind of supply of parts, these days.. Well sir, I have got the parts ordered.. meantime, the gas leak is temporarily stopped and I've got new bulbs in the tail light.. We set up next Tuesday for the valve adjustment and we'll do the complete job when I take it in.. The valve adjustment will take about one and a half hours with about an hour and a half to cool the engine down before the work starts.. This is the first time that Vulcan has had this kind of service and I'm all excited .. lol.. Lookout world.. the Green One is going to hit the ground, running like a watch ..
