Cheapest place to buy a CT110 motor in Sydney

    Hi all,

I'm considering buying a ct110 (posty) motor for a project. What I'm after
is one with CDI ignition (as opposed to the early ones with points).

Can anyone suggest anywhere in Sydney that they have had good experiences
with in the past, and that may have one reasonably priced?

I know that there are a million wreckers in Sydney, and I could let my
fingers do the walking, but word of mouth advertising goes a long way in my
    bok.

    Thanks in anticipation.

    Regards,

    Adam

findapart has nothing to do with posties, i've tried repeatedly.
Head out towards the country and knock on any farmer's door, there's
hundreds of them languishing in sheds around the country.

Get a whole parts bike from the tradingpost for around $400, but I think
these are cheap cos the engine is stuffed...

    Cheers,

For the record, findapart elicited exactly zero responses
on the question of a front wheel for an Aprilia RS250 too.

Not actually sure what the current state of that story is.
Last I heard, owner was pretty pissed at the replacement cost!

He/she should stick to old bikes with long production runs then.

Or ones that get rear-ended rather than spearing into things.

    Zebee
    - who has 2 complete rear wheels, 4 rims and one complete front[1] wheel
in the spares kit. Doesn't everyone?

[1] OK, it's for the Ducati[2], not the Guzzis, but I have the parts to
make a couple of front wheels.

[2] I should send it over to adelaide to keep the rest of the Duke spare
company, anyone know a truckie willing to take odd sized lumps?

No no, you misunderstand. <namedrop> This is 'Kath', holder of
a Poser Permit and everything. (sorry, nfi what number PP, I couldn't
find the web site)</namedrop> She's allowed to have an Aprilia in
    my view.

(Her 'official' excuse for buying it was that she heard that
there might be guv-mint moves afoot to make them illegal and/or
otherwise hard to get here in Oz, so she thought she'd better
buy one before that happened. Could also just be that she needed
to make something up to rationalise the purchase of one very
    expensive toy!)

I'm a newbie, what would I know, but it sounded like a legitimate
    and convincing story to me.

Thank you all for the suggestions and amusing banter.

Please do let me know if anyone spots one at a wreckers in case I don't have
    one in the meantime.

    Thanks again.

If you can rationalise it, it's not really a toy.

Any sufficiently interesting toy can be rationalized.
