Cheap brake lines anywhere?

So, I want a set of brake lines about 36" long with one of those angled
connectors on one end and a straight one on the other.

What's a reasonable price? I've been asked 45 quid for the pair which
looks a bit much to me.

I'm sure they're available much cheaper than that. Suppose I need
braided with that length of hose.

That's not a bad price for two lines of that length with banjos.

Hmmm. You could try my usual recommendation of
http://www.bsr-aerotek.com/store/index.php, but as Lozzo says, I doubt
you'll save much. Still prolly worth a phone call tho.

Well, looking up the parts to make my own and it comes to 21 quid a
line. Shocking. Might as well spend some of the money that's trapped
with PayPal and have someone else make them for me. Of course, now I've
decided this I'll either have measured them wrong (and have them too
short) or they will be made wrong and will leak.

    Thanks for the feedback.

Based on your previous comments, that's the way I would go even if
slightly more expensive[1]. Decent service is worthy of reward.

I'd check that length again if I were you.

I've got a pair of braided hoses that are 20" long and the right hand
one's a bit long if anything. I know your bike's an RT but is there
    that much difference?

I'll be changing mine soon but I might have the right hoses sitting in
the garage. The biggest concern is that the bores in the female
fittings look bigger than the existing banjo bolts.

The problem I've got with the hoses is that the crap design means
there's a single hose from the master cylinder going down the centre
of the headstock to where it meets a splitter. After the splitter I've
got braided hoses for about 10" until they join the original rubber
hoses for another 10" and then there's a short piece of solid line
    about 2" long.

It was just a lash up so I could try the bike out but the reason for
the additional braided hoses is that I've moved the calipers from the
back of the forks to the front now I've got leading links fitted.

    Glad you found them so.

Back in the 80s, I was friends with a chap called Dave Grant, and his
partner Wendy. Dave built several amazing bikes, including a Harris
Kawasaki with the turbo sat on top of the engine and the fuel tank
    underneath.

Anyway, Dave started up Braided Steel all those years ago, but was
killed on a road bike in 2000. Since then, Wendy has run the
    business.

The bike has recently been rebuilt - a brief google turned up this :

When Alex F and I were prepping my ZX7R for my newcomer outing at the
MGP, we had a load of oil and fuel line issues to address, and we just
went up to their little shop in Chipping Camden, and they sorted us
out with great advice. Highly recommended.

It's OK, I'm going home for Christmas, I'll just be sure not to buy
    anything before then.

Indeed. Not worried by SO Italian bikes with weird length banjo bolts
    either.

This is to run from the master cylinder, down the forks to the two
calipers; removing the other hoses etc. Suppose it wouldn't hurt to run
a bit of wire the way it needs to go rather than estimate with a tape
measure. But I'm pretty sure 3 foot is about right (albeit on the
    generous side).

Well, the place Champ recommended only sold the line in 1m lengths so
I've bought 2m. Hope it's long enough, not the end of the world if it
isn't. Decided to make my own.
