Ooh, nice, thank-you. I've been wearing those gloves since whenever it was that they last had 'em on special. They're not half bad actually. Might grab another pair. GB
George W Frost wrote... According to the link: http://aldi.com.au/au/html/offers/2827_9305.htm the unit comes with a mounting cradle. You'd think that it'd be a complete unit going by the ad. So, where do you get the bar attachment from? Got a web link to it?
Sorry Marts, I might have said something a bit misleading I didn't mean to say that the mounting bracket did not come with the unit What I meant, was that if you already have a GPS unit and tried to fit it to a bike, then the cost of the mounting bracket would be as much. I have a couple of GPS units which I don't use that often and I had thought of mounting one on the bike but when I searched around for a bracket, found that it was really expensive, so the units are still in the shed
The approach I've taken in the past with Aldi is queue early, buy first, ask questions later. Their approach to refunds is entirely painless. Last time they did motorcycle gear, I was buying for someone who couldn't make it to the shop, so I just bought one of everything in each size, and returned what she didn't want a few days later. Now I'm wishing I didn't return the extra gloves, 'cos occasionally I've needed a spare pair in a smaller-than-my-hands size. Buy the GPS, have a gander, if you don't like it, return it. GB
Hmmm... I use a plastic A4 document sleeve duct-taped (here we go again) to the tank bag. Works a treat, especially with earphones in the helmet. Maybe my kids are right. Maybe I am -just a little- tight.
Is that one of the _really_ cheap Aldi ones? ...as I keep saying, but for a wee mistake in geography, you'd have to be Scottish. ;-) regards, CrazyCam
No - the local Aldis sold out before I got there. Mine is from eBay - brand name: "GPS". No other identifying marks. Cost about $150 IIRC, and I got it because of the price and the earphone socket. Its not as nice as the NavMan in the car, but its good for the bike. Oh -it announces street names, too.
Happy, dry and warm to confirm that the Aldi wet weather gear is waterproof, functional and good value (the jacket/pants and also the 2piece oversuits). Unlike certain other high-priced crud that leaks at seams.
