    According to
    http://www.mcnews.com.au/NewsArchives/2007/July/suzuka_qual.htm
the Suzuka has a "Superpole" now and Checa has jumped fasted qualifier
Toseland for pole at tomorrow-afternoon's race.
Jamie Stauffer and Russell Holland are in the top-ten for the F1 bikes and
Damien Cudlin & Steve Martin as well as Warwick Nowland & Glen Richards are
well placed in the Superbike class.
..... wish there was a telecast.....

    Provisional Results

Provisional Results from the Suzuka 8 Hour are in and after 189 laps
Yoshimura Suzuki pairing Kagayama and Akiyoshi are claiming victory
ahead of #33 Honda duo Okada and Checa. Rounding out the podium was
the #778 Honda of Teshima and Ito.

Yamaha duo Jamie Stauffer and Norick Abe were a strong fifth position
heading into the final hour but an oil leak in the latter stages of
the race caused them to spent plenty of time in pitlane and thus they
slipped to tenth overall in the final rankings.

Russell Holland and partner Kameya took a highly creditable sixth
overall behind the Moriwaki entry ridden by Yamaguchi and Camier. The
high profile HRC dream team entry of Kiyonari and Toseland crashed out
of the race after only 28 laps.

Jamie Stauffer - "It was a great experience and I've been very
fortunate to ride alongside Norick Abe in this epic event.

"Admittedly, I'm disappointed with the final placing for our team, but
    I suppose that's racing.

"We were holding 5th position comfortably and the end was in sight. I
was on my final lap before coming in to the pit to refuel when the
rear of the bike slipped, followed by my foot on the right footpeg. I
knew something wasn't right and when I looked down I saw oil on my
foot, so I decided to cut straight in and return directly to the pits.

"The team worked well to cap the leak and have Norick back out on
track within around six minutes, but unfortunately this cost us
    dearly.

"I'd like to thank the Yamaha Motor Company for the opportunity to
join Yamaha Racing 81 in the 07 Suzuka 8hr. Hopefully I've made an
impression enough so I can come back and race it again next year. I
had a lot of fun and learnt a lot. Thanks also to YMA for all their
support in the lead up and during the race.

"My back is fairly sore, but I've had a good rub from the team masseur
and a good rest tonight will have be back in good form to wrap up the
final round at Eastern Creek in a couple of weeks."

NB: All results provisional at this stage
