Am I the only one who can see just how immature this posting was?

And this folks, is why you don't give a 14 year old kid a motorcycle...

You don't need a title to keep a motorcycle at your uncle's house. You
don't need a title to ride a motorcycle (which you really shouldn't be
riding on the roads at 14). You don't need a title to work on a
motorcycle. At this point, you'd only need a title to sell a
    motorcycle.

Why am I even bothering to respond to a kid anyway?

If I was Charles, I'd be picking my motorcycle back up.

I'm glad Charles (and everyone else) worked hard to give you that
bike...so your uncle could take and have it for himself...cuz you told
    him he could.

If I was Charles, I'd be taking a trailer to Oklahoma.

It would seem that some on here have gotten the same impression that I
have.. You imposed on the generosity of several who contribute to this
group.. Your appeals to them as a needy young boy, caused them to extend
their generosity to you without qualification.. Since that time, you've
posted comments to cause many of us to believe that you are nothing more
than a little "con artist" who has imposed on their generosity.. Not a
"crime", but most definitely not commendable..

  14. What's the deal here.. I followed that a few members of the newsgroup
basically came together and donated a KZ (650) to some kid? Looked like it
was in good shape cosmetically, so maybe it just needed a carb cleaning and
    the standard fluid flush.

Didn't know that "Chris" was 14.
Geeze.. A KZ 650 is a big bike for a 14 year old.

Last I heard, he couldn't get the thing to run.. Anyone actually kept up
with him via email or phone to help out on his progress?

So, the common thought is that someone has "borrowed" the bike from Chris
and is trying to take it as their own?

No first hand knowledge of this episode, but my impression from the outset
was something to the effect of this being a needy kid.. Due to appeals to
some of the contributors on this group, it was decided to help him to get a
motorcycle.. His financial situation at the time seemed to be that he could
not afford to buy anything .. Through the generosity of some of the very
good people on here, a motorcycle was virtually donated and arrangements
made to transport the bike to him.. The understanding was that he would have
something to piddle with and become familiar with.. All precautions were
taken at the time to ensure that liability to the very generous man who
donated the bike would be considered.. Soon afterward, when he had got the
bike running, other elements came into play and the boy was shopping for
another motorcycle and riding gear.. Making announcements of "price not
being the object" and I know that he did attempt to purchase at least one
motorcycle advertised on this group.. My own impression is that a scam was
run and some very good people had their generosity imposed upon.. Remember
that I have no first hand knowledge of this boy nor his circumstances.. and
    these are only my impressions..

only reason i said price didnt matter is because my dad was going to buy my
a bike and i was going to make payments on it and then collect it when it
was paid off for, nobody wanted to do that so i didnt get anything

Charles, I'll go shopping for that trailer tomorrow...first thing.

Who came up with the idea to give this kid a motorcycle?

This just keeps getting worse and worse.

my uncle and his friend came over and helped cuz i couldnt do anything too
complicated and it cost me about 85.00 in used parts and it took a month and
    we got it to run.

That doesn't even come close to making sense. Am I the only one here
who this doesn't make sense to? <rhetorical>

Price is no object, dad going to buy it, kiddo going to make payments?

It sounds to me like someone has found a way to scavenge motorcycles
around to get what they want.

Charles, I think I found a good trailer that I'll go check into...just
to let you know in case you'll be needing one anytime soon. And hey,
you can even pick it up on your way by! :)
