In another group I read someone pointed out that it would be nice to use
www.oxfamunwrapped.com to buy something life changing for people overseas
rather than waste money on a
christmas present that will never get used.

It was suggested that we should club together and buy something special
between us so I've decided to pull my finger out and organise this and as
this is a newsgroup I regularly use I thought I'd try and rope some of you
lot in. I realise that this will get the usual UKRM replies , but **** it ,
    its worth a go.

I'll collect donations from everyone who wants to contribute in the run up
to christmas and then make the purchase in a month or so's time. I'll be
keeping full records which will be made available to anyone who wants to see
them , and will post a list of contributors (anonymity is an option) at the
    end.

I'm sure the number one question is going to be "how do I know he isn't
going to do a runner with the cash" which is fair enough.
Well I'm happy to provide my postal address to anyone who wants to send a
cheque and I can be found on the electoral register at this address. I'll
also point you at my Ebay feedback at the following link
    http://feedback.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewFeedback&userid=zoidberg!!
as proof of my relative honesty.

Donations can be made via paypal or nochex to alex "AT" drzoidberg "DOT" co
"DOT" uk or by cheque postal order or cash (email me for the address). When
you do send your cash let me know how you want to be mentioned in the list
    at the end.

It was suggested that we aim for a £100 total which would buy a year's
supply of medicine for a village.
Well quite frankly thats aiming way too low given the number of people here.
There are gifts going up to 1640 quid to build a classroom or over 2000 quid
    for a water tank.

I posted this to half a dozen groups earlier on and we are already over £100
so even if people only send 3 or 4 quid it's not beyond the realms of
possibility that we would get that much.

    Over to you.....

  9. DEaR Doctor Zidberg,

I got your address from a mutual acquaintance. First I want to assure
you that this investment is 100% risk-free.

I am headman of a village in Nigeria and our local Oxfam rep was
unfortunately run over by a bullock cart, leaving 100,000 unplayed
copies of Coom By'ah in a locked security trunk......
