I like mine. It looks big and chunky IMO, and goes quick enough for me.
Love the engine. Dunno if I'd call it "throwaroundable" but I'm barely
competent in terms of riding ability.

Welcome to a spin if you're round here.

ISTR hearing horror stories about the finish and general build quality,
though OTOH, that might have been the Z750.

Are you being serious, or did you want to throw the standard answer at
me? Because I've been thinking azbout that. The only thing is, that
it's a helluva a change from my existing bike.

I suppose keeping it at the 106BHP for a while, until I got used to it,
    would be a thought.

Ah yes. Nice idea that one. I'd forgotten about that.

Yes I was being serious. I just thought it was too obvious to need
    suggesting.
Change is bad now, is it?
    TBH I don't think you'd have any problem with a full-power version -
it'll only bite you if you keep the throttle FWO (for more than a
second or so). Even Ginge thought it was easy to ride after his ZRX,
so you should have no probs.

I liked your GSX when I had a brief ride on it, but it is a bit soft
and squidgy. Comfy, but it gets a bit out of shape quite easily.

On the basis of "The same sort of thing only sportier", what about a
    Kawasaki ZRX1200S? The faired one?

Or a nice big farto dirt bike, like a Triumph Tiger? They're excellent
VFM, and you can really chuck them around, if you've a mind to.

    Heh. Ta.
No, but I'm a tad apprehensive, I suppose. It's like when Dodger
offered me a spin on his Wing. I refused 'cos I was a tad nervous of
    dropping such a bulk.
Ah fairy nuff. So what you're saying, is that if Ginge can ride it, so
    can I? ;-)

I liked the ZRX1200S when I test rode it, a few years back. The only
problem is, that I think the fairing is pig-ugly. I suppose there are
aftermarket versions that I could bolt on.
Hmm. I'll have to hunt down a Triumph dealer to have a look.

Triumph Tiger - big and chunky but (fairly)sporty with it and 100bhp for
the 955i. The new ones come with panniers, heated grips, alloy
wheels(tubeless tyres) and a centrestand as standard. I admit to being
slightly biased but it's a great engine and the whole package is
    versatile and fun.

    *Ahem*

Actually you could be right - The screen on the V-S is somewhat grating...

Mind you, I did the B4494 (in both directions) at an average speed of 65mph
this afternoon so it can't be that bad.

    (it's just everywhere at 65mph :) )

Snetterton to Flitwick on Sunday evening in 1 hour 10 mins including a
15 quid fuel stop. A distance of 83 miles. I rarely dropped below the
ton and spent most of the trip at 120 plus[1]

[1] For the purposes of the law, this is a total fabrication.

Monz went from a GSX14 to a thou and loves it. I quite like them too.
I don't know whether to say "Speed Triple" or "Gixxer Thou". I like
the triumphs because of the noise, the looks and the way it rides. I
like the thou because it's so easy, yet has so much potential for all
    sorts of trouble.

Get one of each and have done with it.
