Naah, everyone knows that - we just didn't think you'd be that stupid
    _together_.

Anyway, as I said before, Jude and I are really made up for you both,
and FWIW think you're as well suited as anyone could be. Or in other
words, you deserve each other :)

  6. When I broke my collarbone at the end of last season I went to see
Brian Simpson in Ipswitch for bone healing treatment. I was racing
again 2 weeks later (and won!!).

  8. Ah that solves a mystery - well for me anyway, as I'm not tuned into the
    ukrm gossip machine.

    Congratulations.

  9. It was somewhere around Barstow, on the edge of the desert, when the
drugs began to take hold. I remember (Steve
    Bullimore) saying something like:
Whoa. Are you saying the bone was knitted together within a fortnight?
    Sorry, I don't believe that.

I believe you might have been daft enough to go racing with an unset
bone, otoh. Not exactly unknown in racing circles.

Either that, or this Simpson bloke is a witchdoctor.

Horses for courses. Vincents are beautiful, I'd love to own one, but they
are not really for everyday use on short hops.

Ditto Broughs, jolly rare and desirable, but not very practical for
    regular use on modern roads.

I just love my Matchless for it's economy, smile factor, and utility.
The forks are suppler than roadholders, the engine is mechanically quieter
than most britters, thanks to the helically cut timing gears and the iron
head and most of all, it's simple fun to ride.

    It's all 'the best' really.

  14. The bone wasnt fully mended in 2 weeks from breaking it, obviously,
but it was fixed enough to be able to race without pain or discomfort.
Brian Simpson is famous amoungst bike racers. The entrance to his
clinic is full up with bike racers pictures & signatures of thanks all
over the walls. I went in there 2 days after breaking my collarbone
not being able to really move my arm at all, and I came out 2 hours
later being able to move by elbow over my head!

He treated John Reynolds collarbone in 2002 and he was back out 1 week
    later and got a podium.

I have a nice old B62 - a variant of the B40; lovely old bit of kit, it
is. The selectivity and sensitivity is only matched by ultra modern pro
gear, fifty years after it was made.

    Steve Bullimore says...
Brian has worked on Kevin Falcke[1] in the past when he has binned,
which happens a bit[1]. Kevin really rates him and so does Graham, who
has had a badly damaged ankle treated recently.

I had several, as a result of persistently crashing cars, or being in
them when crashed persistently. Three lumps on the left clavicle,
four on the right - so the lumpy joins are stronger than the original,
it seems. Anyway, I noticed a couple of years ago, not having broken
one for several years, that the lumps were going down - now you could
hardly tell where they were. Lovely.
