Just been looking at Friday's results - 104.23, ranking 11th

He'll be plain unbearable when he returns...

Well yes. Although it's easy to take the piss -- he has put his money
where his mouth is. Mind you, I'm not sure how much I could put up with
the 'Champness' on his return but will cut him some slack.

Cut him some slack? All the **** has done so far is record a few
practice times significantly slower than most of the rest of the pack
that are there and he is doing it with ukrm stickers all over the place.
There won't be any bloody Champness mate I'll tell you that for free.

What have we got so far for our money eh? Nothing that is what. Not
one act of vandalism, hooliganism (warranted or unwarranted),
drunkenness or debauchery. Not a mention of offensive language,
wheelies, stoppies, or sixth form girls with young firm breasts barely
held from view by the slightest covering of seemingly sheer wet cotton.
At no time has the riot act been read, or a warrant issued. Public
order has not been threatened, nor for that matter has public health.
    Armies have not rolled.

Instead, it is reported that he has been enjoying pleasant cups of tea
in the countryside. I just hope for his sake he didn't crook his little
finger when he dunked his biscuits.

Erm, he is significantly quicker that I, and I would imagine most of the
people in this parish, would be. Other that that: good point.

    Yes it is.

He does, as you say, have plenty of local knowledge. He is on a quick,
sort of sorted bike that he knows. He has a great deal of recent
experience racing long distances with well spaced mixed ability fields.
He has practised crew that he can work with. He is moderately well
resourced and I believe, being fed and watered in a nice low stress
domestic environment. For some reason I totally fail to understand he
doesn't seem to attract any brolly dollies but he does have an
enthusiastic and sizeable band of supporters and well wishers. He is in
the process of achieving one of his life's ambitions and he is getting
old. He really has very little excuse for not doing well.

I dunno about buying him a drink but yes.

Isn't he on the ukrm bike then? I thought he was.
