    ................for a Bandit 1200 please.

Current AFAM kit lasted 12000 miles with a Scottoiler. This doesn't seem
very long to me. Sprockets are still absolutely fine but the chain has
    stretched way too much.

Any views on best makes etc?

    Thanks,

    Mark

  2. In uk.rec.motorcycles, Mark amazed us all with this pearl of wisdom:
DID. 12,000 miles on a CBR1000 and hasn't needed to be adjusted and
    that's without a Scottoiler.

DID X-ring chain. Chains and sprockets don't seem to last that long on
    Bandits anyway.

Done 11000 on my FJ1200 so far, and no sign of needing replacement. With
    a Scottoiler though.

There's stacks of room in the sides of the tail unit for the lube tube
and the metering unit can live behind/under the fuel tank near the
battery, where it can stay alomost upright.

That boot space under the pillion seat is huge as well. At the mo it's
home to two chunky disc locks, Gericke waterproof oversuit, fold away
rucksack, cargo net, sidestand puck, puncture outfit, standard toolkit
[1], spare bulb set, roll of insulating tape, couple of decent sized
rags plus a small plastic bag containing an angled tyre valve
extension, small torch and a 35mm film canister with spare ear plugs
inside. There's a little bit of room left as well.

Any chance you can bring a pillion seat hump over when you visit next
    please?

[1] An eBay purchase which has come in handy in the absence of a
correct size rear wheel nut socket.

I've never really understood the 'you shouldn't have a Scottoiler on a
    sportsbike' viewpoint.
