This is commercial spam and ukrm doesn't like commercial spam, as you
    will find out.

And who the **** wants to pay 20 quid for something whose only task is
to substitute for a 20p plastic ruler and you can't flick snot with a
    chain cheka?

  3. In uk.rec.motorcycles, steve auvache amazed us all with this pearl of
    wisdom:
Who the **** wants to pay 20p for a plastic ruler when you can do it by
    eye?

what a shame. If only you'd gone to the trouble of reading the faq and
had the thing at a reasonable price and dealt with the usual case of
uneven chain wear, I may not have felt reading the post was an absolute
waste of my time. I reckon it probably is easier than using a ruler but
as mentioned above, you *just know* when its time to give up the chase
with a chain and put on a new 'un.

I know of a number of riders who *just knew* their chain was worn.
On checking it was found to be far from the case, one was in fact an
experienced mechanic who teaches apprentice motorcycle mechanics (see
    testimonial on eBay).

The uneven chain wear issue is dealt with in the instructions (check chain
at different points while looking for tight links).

As for the price, it is approx 1/4 the cost of new chain and sprocket,
    excluding labour.

The one gauge suits all 5/8 sealed chains, and should last a lifetime.

Regardless of the merits of your product this newsgroup's FAQ/charter
expressly prohibits unsolicited marketing of products - bike-related or
    otherwise.

By repeatedly ignoring this you will have, most likely, damaged any respect
for your company and product the group might have otherwise had.

You could try the more subtle and acceptable approach and contribute to the
group like everyone else - but stick a link to your website in your sig.

Thanks for the advice, but when new members join the group it is not brought
    to their attention.
Certain members referred to my post as a spam.
I thought spam was an unsolicited e mail rather than a commercial news
    posting (soz).*

The advert did include a link to the new Regina maintenance and
troubleshooting guide, which I include below to save members the bother of
    reading my advert.

Just in case you were thinking of sticking around we normally snip sigs
(the -- and my posting name above) when replying.
    Ignorance is no defence.
    You're splitting hairs.

  12. That comment there really endears you to us. I mean, where would we be
    without your incredibly useful insights?

Keep digging that hole; you'll find when you get deep enough, the sides
    will cave in.
