    Hi Y'all,

Sorry if this has been posted before, but what duration do people get
out of their chain/sprockets for normal touring type riding. I have a
VStrom 650 and I did the first replacement at 30,000klm, but seem to
be getting more out of them this time around.

    Thoughts appreciated,

    David

  2. 20,000kms is not a bad run.

Mate, it's kind of like asking about the length of the proverbial bit of
    string.

It depends on so many factors, you just have to check the chain and rear
sprocket occasionally, and change them (and the front sprocket) when
    they look shagged out.

  4. On a GS500 with spray lubrication, change chains and sprockets every 15,000
    km.
On a SV650 with a Scott oiler, still using the original chains and sprockets
    after 34,000 km
