It runs! Cleaned the air filter, changed the plugs (the others were *black*) connected the fuel line, put a new battery on, some juice in it, and kicked it over. Started third or fourth kick. It's a little rough, to be honest, though. Hardly surprising. Tomorrow I'm going to book it into the mechanical marvels that are Swifts of Laindon for a service and MOT. It will also need: - Throttle cable/spring (symptom is that the throttle doesn't wind off when released - a primitive cruise control, I suppose; could be handy for Frankfurt) - Choke spring (it's missing, so you have to hold the choke on until it's warm) - Clutch cable (sometimes you have to push the clutch lever away from the grip!) - Rear mudguard (almost rotted through; will call Dave Silver tomorrow) - something else that I can't remember Trouble is, I won't be able to take it down there until Saturday, and won't be able to collect it until the following Saturday. Progress. That's the main thing.
