CBR600F temperature sender

Discussion in 'UK Motorcycles' started by steveonholiday1, Feb 9, 2009.

  1. Hello,

Anyone know where the temperature sender is on my 1998 CBR600FW? The
haynes manual says "mounted in the right end of the cylinder head" but
    I couldn't see it anywhere.

    Cheers for any help,
    Steve

I've got a couple of CBR600FWs in the garage at the moment, give me a
few minutes to go have a look and I'll get back to you.

Just had a look, it is on the right side of the crankcase/barrel
assembly on the rear side of the engine, directly underneath the carbs
and it screws in vertically. You'll need to remove the carbs to get to
it. It's hidden by the camchain tensioner when you try to look for it.

You can see its location in the hardback Haynes manual page 2.35, photo
number 25.6. It's the round thing top right of the picture between two
    arrows.

There is also a fan switch on the lower back left side of the rad, but
that only operates the fan, it doesn't have anything to do with the
    temp gauge.

Excellent, thank you! I hadnt taken the carbs off hence couldnt see
    it.

I love you. Next time I think that all humans are tossers, I'll
remember it's not true, and some are fantastic.
