Just been getting my bike out of its' whole to get it ready for the mot
( charged battery and replacing rear tyre !)

I've noticed that the breaks seem I little soft since I left it in the
garage for a couple of months. ** Would any one know if this is normal
after some time standing in the cold ? They seem to work reasonably ok
and responded favourably to a few laps round the block. It's the linked
variety, the rear seems to have the most travel,

I think I'll replace the fluid first off .. maybe get some stainless
hoses too I'm not sure where to start to be honest. Is it likely to
fail the MOT like that ?

** (Actually I was wandering if they just feel a little soft compared
to my new mountain bike which has hydraulic breaks !!)

    brakes a
If you're not sure where to start, get a man in. Don't **** about
with brakes that you aren't familiar with.
    brakes. FFS.

It is likely that the pads have hardened a bit, that you're no longer
familiar with the feel and that you need to put some miles in before
you are. Stick it in for the MoT and see, innit?
