There is the small matter of an MOT which ran out last night, but that's
just a technicality ;-)

Is there anywhere near you I could pre-book one for the Saturday? I was
going to use the place down the road to me but they were adamant the
headlight on it is a failure, even before they checked the beam.

And I went to see them again today. It would seem they're sympathetic to
my cause and said if I stuck a couple of tuby bits onto the bracketry
that held the nose and headlight on, I could screw a headlight onto that
for the test. I mentioned swapping the beemer one and taping it on for
the test but although he didn't look averse to the idea, he did say that
it was supposed to be "hard bolted" on.

It's booked in down here now for saturday AM. Apart from the headlamp, I
really don't see why it shouldn't pass
