CBR Plastics giveaway

  1. If your CBR1000 looks like this:

    http://webpages.charter.net/preinertson/page12.html
    http://webpages.charter.net/preinertson/page19.html

Then I'm giving away some of the stuff that came off it.

Basically, everything you see there that's plastic bodywork. I've also
got the exhaust shields, mirrors, gay blue screen and the heel plate
    bits.

I'm not letting the front mudguard go as I realise I now need it after
riding through a puddle yesterday :)

The headlamp and rear light cluster will be up for grabs soon as well
but it's MOT in about a fortnight and I need the headlamp at least to
    get a ticket on it.

All in good nick; no scrapes, gouges or holes. Buyer collects from NW
London. If you want to take the lot, then you can have a bag of screws,
nuts, bolts and anything else that pinged out when I removed it all.

Anybody happen to know if this stuff will fit onto a CBR6 of a similar
    vintage?

I'm guessing not, but if it does I might be able to find you a buyer.

  4. Not without a bit of Jiggery pokery.
A brief Google search reveals it will more than likely fit the FM and FN
    models as well.

  5. I was thinking of him when I thought about giving it away. Now the
bike's "beyond the point of no return", it's just cluttering up the
place and I'm happy to see it go to a good home.

Is he OK? Does the "not posting right now" mean he'll need some new
    panels?

If I can find some suitable replacements quickly, he can have the clocks
and the brackets that hold it all on as well.

Did I hear the word *giving*? I'll gladly have it and at least let me
get you a bottle of your favourite hooch for it.

I'll need to nick Stephs big red bus to collect so it would be Wednesday
evening or the weekend which ever suits you sir.

The Fatblade can have a nice Sunday suit.

It'd look like a skinny bloke in an oversized suit. The CBR thou's a
fair bit bigger than the CBR6, and anyway It's mine, MINE YOU HEAR.....

Pick them up at Pixiefest. I'll be collecting them in my motor on
Wednesday evening after I've seen my last customer in London.

  17. I did say giving and you're more than welcome. You can shout us a drink
at the Pixiefest if you want but I'd be more interested to know if
    you're any good with a welder ;-)
I think Lozzo's collecting it on Wednesday but I'll get some extra tea
bags in and squeeze the ones I've dried out already if I know you're
    coming as well ;-)

Why, thank you, kind sir :)
Umm.. Well, I want a bit chopping off really so a kind of rail with
holes in, welded to the back IYSWIM; a bit like one of those R-send
    things.

I'd like to show you what I'd like doing with it and then if it can be
done, a quick chop and weld and "bodge" job. The main thing ATM is the
seat. I want it chopping off with the back of the bike, but the bits at
the back hold all the gubbins to keep the seat on.

Oh, and cutting the ends off the silencers, cutting the silencers in
half and then welding the end bits back onto the cut off pieces that are
still attached to the bike :)
