my lovely bike has developed a ticking noise when cold,it only lasts for
    about a 45 sec. to a minette.
the bike has only done about 8000kms and the oil level is correct...
any opinions as to the problem or what to do?

    thanks

Ah, it's had it. Rooted. Just drop it off here and I'll
get rid of it for you.

    PS: What is it?

PPS: What's the recommended first service for the tappets?

PS: Please ignore earlier message where I asked you what it was.
    It's a CBR954 as any fool know.

But it's terribly, terribly bad news. Probably best just to tell
me where I can come to pick it up, I'll give you a tenner scrap value,
    can't say fairer than that.

Shims ususally get looked at during the 24,000 km service. Speaking of which both our bikes are due for their 24k. :-/

It could be a cam chain, you will have to get a screwdriver or stethascope
out and find exacly were its coming from.
