The GSX600F is nowhere near as nice a bike to ride as the Honda CBR600F.
Aside from that, the CBR is quicker, more reliable and lasts longer due
to being built to higher standards.

The GSX really *isn't* a good bike when compared to the CBR

Precede the word bargepole with 'don't touch it with a'.

Ian was seen penning the following ode to ... whatever:
Quick check on biketrader suggests that it might be an OK price,
althought the mileage seems to be a bit on the high side for the age &
price. The usual used bike checks apply, plus I'd like to see service
    history as well.

Yes, it was one of the one's on bike trader. I was put off by the high
milage too but needed confirmation. The money's burning the hole and
(suitably fortified by Tetley's bitter)both it and the dealers Suzy looked
good. Looks like you blokes have talked me out of both, for which, tomorrow
    I will probably be grateful

    High mileage?

Jesus.... I'd better flog the VFR ASAP, then, as it's only 5 years old
    and rapidly approaching 30k miles.

Doesn't anyone buy bikes to ride these days?

Ian, welcome. Now go and take a look at the FFAQ at www.ukrm.net. Read
the posting guidelines, particularly the bit about snipping sigs (the
    bit below the "-- ").

It makes life quieter around here if you do.

What is it with you sportsbike riders and high mileage? 30,000 isn't
high. If it's been well looked after there's no reason why it shouldn't
    do 230,000.

Jeez, I bet your gloves match your leathers too.

  13. The GSX600F is a real budget 600. Cheaply built with cheap components,
cheaply finished and sold cheap. Reliable and comfy but sluggish, prone
to corrosion, and just not very desirable.

The price quoted is about ball-park for a dealer sale, so if this is a
    private sale, it's well over-priced.

To put it simply, you can get better performance, handling, brakes,
quality and fun for only 500 quid more. Used Honda CBR600, mate.

Cheap black gloves, cheap black leathers.

    Yep, sorted.

The perfect description. I was happy with mine for a first bike but

Yes, but with four bikes, none of them clock up a high individual
    mileage.

Heh, you are quite correct. If I spent more time worrying about what I

little later down the slip road and would've avoided the fuzz ;-D
