AFAICT my 1968 4 door Morris 1000 had the original yellow and black
plates it came with, as did my 1969 Triumph Herald.

  2. Yep, they're cunts. I was quite happy paying a reasonable cost and
waiting for surface mail when it came to moderately heavy stuff. Now
they've dropped surface mail, even the relatively light stuff is 40usd a
shot and the heavier stuff is just impossibly pricey.

  3. Thanks for that, but I've decided it's all too much hassle. Hagon do
shocks specifically for the CB72 and they come highly recommended and
    retail at around 100 quid.

Couldn't you just pack them off to Hagons, I may be wrong but I seem to
recall someone once saying they rebuild shocks for you?

" The long established black and white number plate was outlawed by
legislation that required reflective plates to be used for vehicles
first registered after 1st January 1973"
Number Plates, Dave Moss. Pub. Shire books. 2003.

Isn't it tragic what you can find on your bookshelves.

  6. Could do, but I wanted to split them myself as the uppers are painted
the same colour as the tank etc, so if I decided on blue they'd need to
go to Beav for painting, and the lowers will need re-chroming as well.

Seems easier just to buy the Hagon replacements off the shelf, they are
apparently a close match to the originals, and it'll be cheaper than
buying the tool and then getting them painted and chromed.

On the plus side I've just got rid a load of parts I thought were going
to be difficult to shift (knackered wheels etc) to the guy that's coming
to collect the spare frame tomorrow. So that pays for the order I just
    placed with David Silver.

  7. I wonder when the first black-and-yellows appeared?
