Anyone give me an idea as to how much a CB175 in unknown condition could
    fetch these days.

    From a local paper.
HONDA CB175, M REg, barn stored 15 years, no docs, may break or offers
    invited,

    Thanks
one of the few small jap bikes i really love but have never owned.

    Worth nothing. Nada. Zilch. ****-all.

Not even worth taking if it's free and they'll deliver it for you.

  3. Depends on condition. I've owned several - the last one (sold in 1997)
    was a minter.

They're gorgeous mini sports bikes and in increasing demand. A good
original one will fetch ukp500, no problem. 700 if it's really nice.
Even original and complete but slightly tatty runners fetch over 300
    quid.

Dead ones? Depends how dead. As ever, it's the irreplaceable things like
chrome silencers and small bits of trim which count. I'd ascertain its
    condition before proceeding further.

Thanks for that, I will go and have a look.
But from the phone call it don't sound too promising, looks like it will
need completely re-chroming and new exzorts which alone would almost price
    it out of contention.

Mark was seen penning the following ode to ... whatever:
More likely, price it out of existence - chrome is not *that*
expensive but you're looking at a couple of hundred at least *if* the
metal itself is still usable, the 'zorsts are made out of unobtanium
if you want genuine ones (wasn't there something about the downpipes,
    TOG?) etc etc.

Make sure that it is at least complete and the main chrome parts are
still salvageable if you intent to take it on as a resto project.

  6. You're lucky with the exhausts - CB200 pattern silencers look identical
and will fit on the original downpipes. Dave Silver does the pattern
    CB200 pipes for ukp39+VAT each.

    Mudguards - unobtanium.

  7. The one I flogged had really good mudguards, no rust.
