    Hi all,
A torrent of the Catalunya MotoGP race is available here:
<http://tinyurl.com/ayhzm> (TPB link - search there for it if you don't
    trust tinyURL).

Apologies for the size, but it is in MPEG2.

    Laters,

    Mr X.

    it's a torrent - you don't view it.

What you do do is install a BitTorrent client (I prefer BitTornado),
shut down all your browser windows, get the BitTorrent client running,
and then click on the link again.

It'll (eventually) download the distributed MPEG2 file that's
    referrenced by the Torrent.

You can view /this/ in, well, Windows Media Player (though I'd
recommend downloading and using BSPlayer instead).

Thanks for this - I prolly won't bother just now then. If it does
finally load the mpeg file on your hard disk, what's the perceived
    advantage to user and/or supplier?

Supplier? Nothing. In fact, no "supplier" in the general sense exists -
it's a P2P system, and the MPEG2 file "exists" on multiple machines all
over the net - when you're downloading it, you're getting it from all
over the place, from whichever peer on the network is most suitable for
you to do so for each chunk at a given time.

User? You get to download ripped-off movies and tv-shows, and also act
as a peer for others to download from your machine (whilst you yourself
    are downloading).

It's a nice idea, but by definition it's only efficient for popular
downloads - the fewer other people interested in a given torrent, the
slower it is for everyone to download it.

It's also completely traceable by the likes of the RIAA.
