Cat down :-(

Discussion in 'UK Motorcycles' started by Phil Launchbury, Sep 5, 2008.

  1. Cheryl just phoned from the vet. Our old cat has an infection in her
right eye thats a symptom of worse stuff behind the eye. Shes blind in
the other eye, is running a high temperature, hasn't been eating for
several days and has just been sitting hunched up on the bed.

The vets say that they *might* be able to clear the problem up but it
would mean at least two operations - one to remove the eye and another
to clean up her mouth and any other souces of infection.

It really didn't seem to be a good idea to put her through that so
Cheryl phoned me and we made the decision to have her put down.

This is her in her better days with our new youngster:

It's going to be odd to just have the two cats.

Is there a compelling reason you don't get a dog?

    [sorry about the cat btw]

Always a sad decision, so commis, etc.
    Awww, cute.
It's funny how quickly both owners and animals get used to a status
quo, and how full/empty the place feels when it's changed. Two
3-y-olds plus 2 5-month-olds seems far more that the last two did as
kittens, with two quite different adult cats around.

  7. Other than the four we already have you mean?

Dogs are all very well (and I like them a lot) but I'm much much more
    of a cat person.

  8. The two youngsters probably won't even notice. The only interaction
they had with her was to ensure that they stayed out of paw-range..
I did mutter something about "when Callie goes I'd like to get some
kittens" but got told that I had to wait for the dog-count to decline
    before I could get some.
