Cat Down

  1. BTDT. When I was a kid (age 6) one of our cats stored a mouse under my
(very very heavy) wardrobe. I mentioned it to my mum but she obviously
forgot. Two weeks later she told me off because she saw a maggot under
    my wardrobe..

  2. You didnt mention small(unless i misread the post ) you just said cages
, to me that usally means animal pens with a run and covered area
sorry i misunderstood , if they are being kept in small cages for long
periods then that is cruel , thats enough to really stress any dog out
and should be reported to the RSPCA

    I expected piss-takes & wind-ups, & wouldn't have it any other way. But
this guy's just a total fucking retard.

It's not been a good day though. Can't shut my eyes without seeing it
all again, & Simba's sister started pining in the early hours so I've
been up all night with her. She's just wandering around the house
crying, & refusing to eat anything or go outside.

Then of course we had the buriel, & planted a couple of trees with him,
with enough space between them for the other two when they eventually
go. J hasn't read Pet Sematary, so I suggested she does. That should
cause a few nightmares as the buriel plot's in her garden.
    I feel your pain.
    St Lucia's a good laugh.

  4. They are where I grew up.. Which wasn't a middle-class religious
    enclave either!
Actually I think it's called "technical terms". In Law anyway.
Huh? You made an assertion that "use of Latin is mostly confined to
religion". I merely made an assertion that it's more commonly used in
Law. I fail to see how that's 'digression'.
Why? If you don't understand it, Google it. Or killfile me if it
annoys you enough. That'll save you, me and UKRM a good deal of stress.
You are entitled to your opinion. I'm entitled to think you are a fool
for having a go at me for using something other than basic English. Do
you have a go at (say) Bear when he says "mea culpa"?
Call it what you will (after all - nothing I'm going to say is going to
change your mind!) but that wasn't my intention. If I didn't want to
say "I was wrong" I would have just not posted.

I'm slightly confused here and wondering how J (Simba's sister?) can
be expected to be able to read Pet Semetary and why the **** she
hasn't just cleared off into the distance when you showed her how
you've sorted out a plot ready for her.

  6. I agree its wrong if they are caged without a run ( pet carrier style)
12 hours a day , why the **** didnt you bother to call the RSPCA then
or are you just up in arms now because your animal suffered and you
didnt really give a **** before

Why the **** did you let your cat out when you knew that they were
running lose in their own back yard or didnt you bother to check,
iresponsible owner or just a fuckwit christ sake man they had already
given another cat a good hiding try taking some responsiblity yourself
it was your fucking cat and you failed to report dogs being cruely
    treated

I trust the dogs were in their cages at the time.

    There's no justice, is there.

There you go again. 'Pet carrier style'? No, weldmesh enclosures with
enough space for the dogs to take maybe three-four paces. I pointed
this out to the RSPCA when they came to inspect my place for
suitability for a rescue dog. They agreed it wasn't ideal, but not
serious enough for them to get involved.
And again. Ever heard of cat-flaps? None of the cats has made any
attempt to get into her enclosure in the five months I've been here,
afaik. I'm surrounded by fields on all the other sides, & that's where
    the cats go.

Mum and Dad did that when he lost their BUPA, stuck the same money it
would have cost in the bank.

Luckily they had more than the 10K it cost for a quick stay in a
private hospital for a few days and a bit of treatment (he could have
been dead before the NHS got round to seeing him).

    All the best ..

sorry for your loss, old chap, though I do think it's telling that
there about 300% more replies to a thread about a fucking dead cat
than when it was announced that Mat Taberner had died.

    go ukrm - you *own*

I don't suppose many people took opposing views when he died.

A mate did that with his old and ailing gundog ... took it out for
walk on the shooting fields, didn't bring it back.

His point. The dog *hated* the vets and being in the fields and around
shotgun noises was very much at home for the creature.

I'm pretty sure it's illegal to do that (potential cruelty or summat)
    but hey.

    All the best ..

  20. Krusty , i agree the dogs shouldnt be caged and as far as i am
concerned those weldmesh cages are pet carrier style , they dont allow
the animal to move more than a few steps freely about or run as a
    proper pen should

Personally i think they should be banned but its unlikely to happen

It sounds like your cat just got curious and paid the ultimate price
