    Sorry to hear that, Luc.

It's always a hard decision. But you've done the best thing for her.

I would advise getting a companion for the remaining cat sooner rather
than later, though. They get terribly lonely if they're suddenly alone.

When we lost our Marmalade, the one left, Muffin, kept looking for him.
Every time you said Where's Marmalade? he'd fuss about the house,
    looking for his friend!

Marmalade had kidney failure, and wandered off to find a quite spot to
die, but we didn't know where for a year or two. James was only little
and got orl confused: he kept telling people Marmalade had gone across
the fields to the pub for lunch! Sounds like a good way to go, to me!
Muffin dies quietly under his favourite bush in the garden one night,
with no prior symptoms. he must have had a stroke or summat. Didn't
look like he'd suffered at all, just looked asleep.

Present two are Cornflake, the thickest cat in England - totally
unsullied by brain cells, but very affectionate, and Sugar Puff, who has
all the brain cells and is the biggest flirt you ever met!

  4. Mo, one of our two Siamese, Ming (the Merciless) claims that award. His
brother Ivan (the Terrible) is super-bright, but Ming was the runt of
the litter, apparently, and for sure was hiding behind the door when the
    brain cells were handed out.

  5. I think my recently-departed Sophie could have given him a run for his
money. You know that Larson cartoon on the greeting card: "School for
the gifted" and the boy is pushing the door clearly marked "Pull"?
    That was Sophie.

My sympathies to Lucretia & AJ.

Felix did the same when Pepper died. He's never recovered, actually -
she was top cat and kept the garden and house intruder-free - and
remains an anxious cat even now, five years on.

  7. Did close friends get to call her TC? Did bromide get whipped in her
    tea?

Cornflake is so stupid he fell off the BBQ table and broke his leg - in
his sleep! He them complicated the whole thing by attempting to climb a
5 foot high fence, and fell off...

When still tiddly, he escaped out of the window in the conservatory,
following his sister. She went down by way of the hanging basket. he
got stuck in the basket and yelled for help! I did rescue him, but only
    after taking the incriminating photo!

If you're that easily amused why don't you get one with a hand pointing
to your right with the text "I'm with stupid".

I'm sure that would have you in stitches.

  14. Ming went hunting wopses, and got stung. He then decided that crouching
outside the beehive and trying to catch beezes as they flew in and out
was more rewarding. He got stung. He went back to wopses, in the hope
that perhaps they'd leave him alone. He got stung.

    Need I go on?

Actually, one of the funniest sights is watching him staring under any
item of furniture, daring his toy mouse (which he's lobbed underneath)
to come out and face him.

His brother, OTOH, can open cupboards and the fridge.

Unlikely. I think the wind would be blowing in my direction if I did
    that.

That's on a parr wiv our village idiot, orl right!
Cornflake got stuck under the rolly chair while chasing his sister -
he'd growed since he last went under!
Sugar Puff does that by telepathy! She also knows how greedy he is, and
lets him do all meal begging.

,<< close friends get to call him TC>>

    closest I could manage is
    << crow-biting is whippy Kerchief>>
( which I suspect is about as close as your version)
